The Perfect Shakeout Before Cardiff Half

Ahead of the highly anticipated Cardiff Half Marathon, EZ.RC teamed up with Bearhug, SportTape, and the legendary Donald's Pies to host the ultimate social shakeout run. A celebration of movement, community, and good vibes right in the heart of the city.

The Warm-Up Before the Big One

The energy was buzzing at the Bearhug Store as runners gathered for a relaxed 5K shakeout around Cardiff city centre.
But before the running shoes hit the pavement, SportTape set the tone with a free pre-run taping clinic, offering expert support and advice to help runners feel race-ready. Meanwhile, the Bearhug team welcomed everyone in to browse their incredible range of bamboo joint and muscle sleeves, kit that's designed to keep athletes moving better, for longer.

5K of Pure Community Spirit

The 5K itself was an easy-paced, no-pressure cruise through the heart of Cardiff, letting runners stretch out the legs, chat with old friends (and make some new ones), and soak up the incredible buzz building across the city ahead of race day.

No splits. No watches. Just movement, conversation, and the pure joy that comes when a community comes together around a shared love for running.

Pies, Pints, and Post-Run Smiles

Of course, no EZ.RC event would be complete without a serious reward at the finish.
Post-run, runners were treated to free pies and pints, courtesy of the infamous Donald’s Pies. The perfect carb-load ahead of Sunday’s big effort. Between bites and beers, runners swapped race strategies, shared nerves and excitement, and hyped each other up for what’s always one of the biggest weekends in the Welsh running calendar.
